Vitalii Gordienco

Freelance technical drawing and CAD

Drawings somebody can build from

Vitalii Gordienco draws to order. A sketch on paper, a part measured with a caliper, or an old blueprint that only exists as a photograph becomes a clean CAD drawing with dimensions, layers and a title block, delivered in the formats your workshop actually opens.

01 / scope

What is drawn here

Parts, assemblies and fittings of the size that fits on a bench or in a van. The work starts from whatever you have, including nothing on paper at all.

2D · production

Drawings from a sketch or a measured part

A hand sketch, a photograph with a rule in it, or a list of measurements you took yourself becomes a dimensioned drawing: views, sections, hole positions and the notes a workshop needs before it cuts anything.

3D · model

A model, and the sheets that come off it

Where a part is easier to understand solid than flat, it is modelled first and the flat sheets are generated from that model, so a change made once moves through every view instead of being redrawn four times.

redraw

Old paper drawings put into CAD

Faded blueprints, a scan at an angle, a drawing with pencil corrections on it. It is redrawn to scale, the corrections are carried in or listed as queries, and nothing is quietly invented where the paper is illegible.

clean-up

Tidying a CAD file you already have

Layers renamed and sorted, duplicate lines removed, blocks rebuilt, text and dimension styles made consistent, and the drawing set to a real scale so printing it stops being a guess.

sheet set

Turning one drawing into a set

A single part drawing grown into an ordered set: assembly, sub-assemblies, a parts list keyed to balloons, and sheet numbers that stay correct when one of them is revised later.

revision

Revisions on work drawn here

A change to something already delivered is drawn as a revision: the sheet keeps its number, the revision letter moves on, and the note says what changed, so the old print on the wall can still be matched to it.

02 / sequence

How a drawing is made

Four stages, the same for one bracket and for a set of twelve sheets. You see the drawing and mark it up before it is finished, not after.

  1. What you have

Send the sketch, the photographs, the measurements or the old file. Say what the part is made of and how it is made, because a drawing for laser cutting and a drawing for a lathe are not the same drawing.

  2. A written quote

What will be drawn, how many sheets, which formats come back and by when, with the price. Anything missing from your material is listed here as a question rather than filled in silently. There is no charge for the quote.

  3. Draft for your mark-up

A PDF of the drawing as it stands, for you to print, scribble on and send back. Queries that came up while drawing are attached to it as a short list.

  4. Final files

The mark-up is worked in and the files are delivered in the agreed formats, with the layers named and the title block filled in. What could not be resolved is written on the drawing rather than left to be discovered later.

03 / delivery

What is delivered, and on what terms

Set out here so it does not have to be asked on every job.

FORMATS
DWG and DXF for the editable drawing, plus a PDF set to scale for printing. A STEP file as well when the job was modelled in 3D.
UNITS
Millimetres unless you ask for inches. The unit is written on the sheet, and the two are never mixed inside one drawing.
LAYERS
Named in plain words, one purpose each, with outlines, hidden detail, dimensions and notes kept apart so you can turn any of them off.
TITLE BLOCK
Your own title block if you send it. Otherwise a plain one with sheet number, scale, units, date and revision letter.
TOLERANCES
Written on the drawing where you state them. Where you do not, the sheet says so instead of carrying a figure that nobody agreed to.
OWNERSHIP
The drawings and the files are yours once the work is paid for, including the editable ones. Nothing is kept back to force a return visit.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Your drawings and parts are not shown to anyone else and are not used as examples anywhere.
PAYMENT
Nothing is sold or paid for on this website. Invoicing is arranged directly once a quote has been accepted.
04 / questions

Asked before the first quote

If what you need is not below, put it on the request page.

Is a photograph enough to work from?

Sometimes, for shape. Never for size. A photograph with a rule or a known dimension in the frame, plus a handful of measurements, is usually enough to get to a draft you can correct.

Can one small part be drawn on its own?

Yes. A single bracket on a single sheet is a job. There is no minimum and no obligation to have the rest of the assembly drawn afterwards.

What if my measurements contradict each other?

You are told, with the two figures side by side, before the drawing goes further. A contradiction resolved by guesswork turns into a part that does not fit.

How long does a reply take?

Enquiries are read and answered in writing by the person who would do the drawing, one at a time. Nothing here replies automatically.

Have something that needs drawing?

Send the sketch, the photographs or the old file, and say what it is made of. A written quote comes back, and no drawing starts until you accept it.
